Pre-Insulated Copper Pipe

1) Introduction to Insulated Copper Tube (Pre Insulated Purple Copper Refrigerant Tube):
Insulated copper pipe is a finished pipeline with TP2 deoxygenated copper pipe wrapped with an insulation layer. It is commonly used in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry to transport refrigerants and is a set of fluorine system accessories.
1. Inner layer: TP2 soft copper tube (C12200)
High purity copper, good ductility, easy to bend and solder; High pressure resistance, compatible with R32/R410A refrigerant.
A set of air conditioners uses two pipes in pairs: a thin pipe (liquid pipe) and a thick pipe (air pipe). This type of insulated copper pipe is also used for multi split VRV pipelines, and a purple copper branch pipe is connected in the middle of the pipeline to distribute to each internal unit.
2. Intermediate insulation layer
-White PE polyethylene (household finished connecting pipe, factory integrated foam)
-Black rubber B1 level flame retardant (commonly used in engineering, multi split, and cold storage, with better insulation performance)
>Function: Isolate air, prevent condensation and dripping of low-temperature copper pipes, and reduce cooling loss

2) Core purpose:
1. Household split air conditioner : Connect indoor unit and outdoor unit, deliver refrigerant
2. *VRV/VRF multi split central air conditioning : refrigerant pipelines from the main unit to the branch pipe, and from the branch pipe to each indoor unit (matching with the branch pipe you asked earlier)
3. Refrigerant pipelines for air source heat pumps, small cold storage facilities, and commercial refrigerators
3) Four major functions:
1. * * Anti condensation and dripping * * (most important): During cooling, the temperature of the pipe wall is very low, and exposure will condense a large number of water droplets on the pipe wall, which will damage the ceiling wall surface
2. * * Reduce cooling loss, save electricity * *, and improve cooling/heating efficiency
3. * * Protect copper pipes * *, reduce oxidation and collision damage
4. Noise reduction, reducing refrigerant flow noise
4) Specification selection (commonly used in the industry):
-1 HP: diameter 6.35 (fine)+diameter 9.52 (coarse)
-1.5 HP: diameter 6.35+diameter 12.7
-2 HP: diameter 6.35+diameter 15.88
-3 HP: diameter 9.52+diameter 15.88
-5 HP and multi split supervisor: diameter 12.7+diameter 19.05
5) Installation points (matching with compressor and branch pipe):
1. The interface of the insulation layer must be sealed without leaving any gaps, as any leakage will cause condensation and dripping
2. Copper pipe welding must be protected with nitrogen gas to prevent the formation of oxide scale on the inner wall, which can block the electronic expansion valve and damage the GMCC compressor
3. For outdoor exposed pipelines, it is best to add waterproof and sunscreen zip ties to protect the outer insulation layer to prevent aging and cracking
4. The insulation thickness increases with the increase of horsepower/pipeline length, and multi unit long pipelines need to be thickened for insulation
